you are a new student or returning to continue your education, we are committed to
helping you succeed. From navigating VA benefits to providing resources for personal
and academic support, we’re here to assist every step of the way.

How to Join
Follow these simple steps to get started with the VALOR Center:
- Apply to Mission College: Begin by completing the online application for admission at the Mission College Application Portal. You’ll receive your student ID number within 24 hours.
- Apply for GI Bill® Benefits: Visit eBenefits to apply for your VA Educational Benefits. Once you receive your Certificate of Eligibility letter, submit it to the VA representative.
- Apply for Financial Aid: Complete the FAFSA to explore additional financial aid options. This is important for securing any extra funding you may need.
- Submit Official Transcripts: Request official transcripts from any previous colleges or military records and send them to the Admissions & Records Office at Mission College.
- Schedule an Appointment with a VA Counselor: Meet with a VA Counselor to discuss your Educational Plan. You can schedule an appointment by visiting the VALOR Center (Campus Center 240), calling (408)-855-5418, or emailing mcvalorcenter@wvm.edu.
- Register for Classes: Veterans are given priority registration, so be sure to use your My Mission Portal to register for courses based on your Education Plan.
- Certification of Enrollment: After registering, meet with the Veteran Academic Certifying Official to complete your enrollment certification for VA benefits.
