With the support of our local community partners and a range of services, CalWORKs offers personalized assistance that empowers you to earn certificates, degrees, or transfer to four-year institutions while also helping you find family-sustaining employment.

How to Join
Step 1: Complete a Mission College Application
- Apply online at Mission College or visit the Welcome Center for assistance.
Step 2: Register for Classes
- Once your application is accepted, register for your desired classes.
Step 3: Determine Eligibility for CalWORKs Services
- For Santa Clara County Residents: Complete the online application at MyBenefits CalWIN or visit a local eligibility office.
- Santa Clara County Office: 1867 Senter Road, San Jose
- North County: 1330 W Middlefield Road, Mountain View, (408) 278-2400
- South County: 379 Tomkins Court, Gilroy, (408) 758-3300
- For Out-of-State Residents: Contact your local eligibility office for guidance on eligibility.
Step 4: Attend a CalWORKs Orientation
- Bring your Mission College class schedule to the orientation.
Step 5: Submit Your Referral
- Your county eligibility worker will email your referral form to Mission College CalWORKs
Step 6: Schedule a New Student Appointment
- Call (408) 855-5228 to schedule your appointment with the CalWORKs office. Be sure to arrive 20 minutes early to complete the New Student Profile and Questionnaire.
