Requirements to Join
Joining the Honors Program is simple:
- Submit the Intake Form: Start by submitting your Intake Form to apply for honors courses.
- Meet the Eligibility Criteria: Honors courses are open to all students, but students wishing to receive recognition for completing the program must meet certain requirements.
- Maintain a Strong GPA: To receive Honors Program recognition, you must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25.
- Complete Required Coursework: Complete the necessary Honors units to earn recognition (details available upon application).

- Departments Offering Honors Courses: Mission College offers Honors courses across a variety of subjects, such as Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Political Science, and Psychology. A full list of available Honors courses is available in the online catalog.
- Recognition Levels: Recognition within the Honors Program is awarded based on the number of Honors units completed:
- Honors Program Participant: 9 Honors units with a minimum grade of “B”
- Honors Program High Achievement: 12 Honors units
- Honors Program Scholar: 15 Honors units
- UCLA TAP & UCI Honors-to-Honors Transfer Opportunities: Honors students are eligible for priority admission consideration at prestigious institutions like UCLA and UC Irvine, as well as opportunities for merit-based scholarships.
