Mission College proudly partners with the South Bay Consortium for Adult Education
(SBCAE) to ensure smooth transitions from adult school to community college and beyond.
Early Childhood Education Transition Pathway
In partnership with Santa Clara Adult School, Mission College offers adult school
students an opportunity to earn up to six units of credit in Early Childhood Education
tuition free. The courses are taught at Santa Clara Adult School. Upon completion
of these courses students are ready to continue their work toward certificates or
degrees in Early Childhood Education at the Mission College campus.
For English language learners Mission College also offers specialized ESL courses
tailored for adults pursuing careers in Early Childhood Education. This pathway supports
non-native English speakers to develop the language skills and technical knowledge
needed for success in early child care and development roles. These courses may be
taken prior to or simultaneously with the Early Childhood Education courses.
Transitions for Adult High School Students
Mission College offers an opportunity for adult students who are enrolled in a high
school or high school equivalency program to enroll in credit courses at the Mission
College campus tuition free. This is a great opportunity to get a jump start on your
college dreams, while completing your high school credential.
