Requirements to Apply

To verify your identity, you may present one of the following: a valid California driver’s license, a DMV-issued ID card, or a U.S. passport.

You must also provide either a Social Security Number (SSN) or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)

You must be at least 18 years old or a high school graduate to qualify.

Have a College ID number, which is obtained by applying to Mission College through CCCApply."

Steps to Apply for Spring 2026

Learn about a career as a Nursing Assistant. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a Zoom Information Session on either September 3 at 2:00 pm or September 23 at 7:00 pm to learn about working as a nursing assistant and how our training program at Mission College works. A Zoom link will be provided here prior to the meeting.
Apply. Submit an application during the application window: September 4 - October 2, 2025. A link for the application form will be provided here prior to the application window.
Start your career. Qualified applicants for the Spring 2026 semester will be accepted on a lottery system.

Required Before Classes Begin

Accepted applicants must meet the following requirements before the program start date.

Attendance at a mandatory Orientation meeting on Zoom, October 21 at 7:00 pm.
Physical Health Clearance to include tuberculosis screening, immunizations, and physical and emotional fitness for work as a nurse assistant.
Criminal background check. Appointments for LiveScan fingerprinting will be available January 13, 14, and 15. If you have been convicted of any offense other than a minor violation, you may not qualify to be certified as a Nurse Assistant. Each case is reviewed and determined by the California Department of Public Health.
Purchase of required books, skills kit (order deadline January 15), and uniform.
Attendance at a mandatory on-campus meeting on January 27, 2026, at 11:00 am to complete state forms
